Public debt of Nepal 23 trillion 97 billion

At the beginning of the current financial year 2080/81, the total public debt of Nepal was Rs. 22 trillion 99 billion, by the end of May 2081, an additional amount of Rs. 98.8 billion was received and the total debt was Rs. 23 trillion 97 billion.

In recent times, the size of public debt seems to be increasing after the government raised internal debt and started spending on current expenditure rather than on development and construction.
